Swati Mundhe and M. S. Deshmukh

Abstract

Field experiment was conducted during Rabi season of 2012 at Research Farm of Department of Soil Science and Agricultural chemistry, Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani on Vertisol to evaluate the effect of soluble fertilizer on yield quality and nutrient uptake of maize. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 10 treatments and replicated thrice. The results revealed that, the application of 100 % RDF + two spray of starter and booster recorded significantly higher grain and dry matter yield followed by 100 % RDF + one spray of starter and booster. The quality parameters viz. protein and carbohydrate content were found to be higher with the application of 100 % RDF + two spray of starter and booster. Among the treatment combinations, the uptake of major nutrients was highest in 100 % RDF and two sprays of starter and booster followed by 100 % RDF + multimicronutrient Grade II. Among the micronutrient uptake, significant increase was recorded in 100 % RDF + multimicronutrient Grade II.
