STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS FOR INCREASING THE SHARE OF ALTERNATIVE ENERGY IN THE CONSUMPTION STRUCTURE

ALEXANDER D. PODSKREBKIN

Abstract

It is shown that successful development of national economy is formed by a number of factors, one of which is the stable functioning of the energy industry. The decrease in the level of dependence on the price of fossil fuels is a gradual process, the bulk of which should be the development of certain alternative energy technologies that do not contain the fuel component. This is confirmed by the authors in the experience of European countries in which over 2000 - 2014 the enterprises of the wind energy and solar energy compete with traditional energy production technologies, significantly outperforming them in terms of input of new capacities and nuclear power and energy based on coal and refined petroleum products there was a reduction in generating capacity. The authors reveal that a significant part of technological equipment used at the enterprises of power, has fulfilled its service life and requires replacement. First of all, it concerns thermal (lifetime of more than 70% of technological equipment more than planned) and nuclear energy (demand of works on life extension or decommissioning). While the economy is volatile, exporting substantial volumes of fuel and energy resources abroad. Thus, there is a need in development of theoretical bases and practical recommendations to ensure the competitiveness of alternative energy technologies on the energy companies, given the compliance with the conceptual framework of sustainable development, namely focusing on renew technology energy.
