Abstract

In this article, on the example of one fairly large cataclysm, connected with volcanic activity and occurred relatively recently, we consider the effects of volcanic eruptions on air traffic control and the necessity and appropriateness of the actions in the field of international aviation regarding to these effects. For the analysis, the authors present the results of simulation studies of the regularities of air pollution by the volcanic aerosol. In the paper, we also evaluate the influence of large eruptions on the safety of aircraft flights with a detailed examination of the event given as the example, and thus we confirm the fallacy of the chosen solution. Based on the results, we give an example of a reasonable solution regarding such volcanic activity. Then, the authors provide an example concerning the actions taken during the eruption and discuss in detail the seriousness and importance of determining the scale of the cataclysm and the applied actions.
