PRELIMINARY STUDY ON PREDATORY MITE (ACARI: MESOSTIGMATA) FAUNA ON ROSE FROM HIMACHAL PRADESH, INDIA

Abstract

The study was carried out during 2013 and 2014. A total, 11 species of predatory mites viz. Euseius prasadi (Chant & McMurty), Euseius finlandicus (Oudemans), Euseius delhiensis (Narayanan & Kaur), Euseius alstoniae Gupta, Euseius eucalypti Ghai & Menon, Euseius sp., Neoseiulus paspalivorus (DeLeon), Neoseiulus longispinosus (Evans), Phytoseius roseus Gupta, Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) darjeelingensis Gupta and Lasioseius sp. Were recorded. Species belonging to two families (Phytoseiidae and Ascidae) and 5 genera (Euseius, Neoseiulus, Phytoseius, Typhlodromus and Lasioseius) of order Mesostigmata. T. (A.) darjeelingensis was first report on any crop in the state and E. eucalypti were the first report on this crop from Himachal Pradesh.
