EFFECT OF EMPLOYMENT ON WATERSHED BENEFICIARIES

Abstract

Explosion in population, has led to increase in demand of various natural resources, including that of the most precious resource- water, especially for irrigation and agricultural purposes this is the basic reason for that study to be conducted. This paper highlights observations based on assessments of watershed management projects in Madhya Pradesh. These observations are based on a primary data which were collected by personal interview. Present study was conducted in Jabalpur district of M.P., during 2014-15, total 200 farmers were selected for the study and the main objective of the paper was to know direct or indirect association of the employment of the watershed beneficiaries with their socio economic character sticks. Result shows that except age and size of family the other entire variable found to be positively associated with employment of the beneficiaries. The paper gives detailed idea of association of socio economic variable of the beneficiaries with their employment and there use in policy implication.
