EFFECT OF BORON, ZINC AND IRON ON SEED YIELD AND ITS QUALITY PARAMETERS OF EGGPLANT CV. HLB 12A.K. Pandav, M.K. Rana, A.K. Rai, Tarique Aslam and M.K. NallaAbstract The present investigation was carried out at Research Farm of the Department of Vegetable Science and Laboratory of the Department of Seed Science and Technology, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar during autumn-winter season of 2014-15. The experimental treatments viz., T1 (control- water spray), T2 (zinc sulphate 0.3%), T3 (zinc sulphate 0.4%), T4 (zinc sulphate 0.5%), T5 (iron sulphate 0.3%), T6 (iron sulphate 0.4%), T7 (iron sulphate 0.5%), T8 (borax 0.3%), T9 (borax 0.4%) and T10 (borax 0.5%) were laid out in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) for field studies and Complete Randomized Design (CRD) for laboratory studies with three replications. Five competitive plants were randomly selected from each experimental treatment to record data on various parameters, which were influenced significantly by different concentrations of micronutrients. The seed yield per plant (g) and per hectare (kg), test weight (g), seed weight per fruit (g), seedling establishment (%), seed germination (%), seedling length (cm) and seed vigour index increased significantly with increasing concentration of micronutrients (up to 0.4%). Conversely, the electrical conductivity decreased with increasing levels of micronutrients.
