Abstract

Frequency of incidence of the level of ketosis among individuals in dairy herd is rather high worldwide. In the European countries the lowest prevalence is observed in Great Britain and Italy (31%), it is much higher in Germany (43%), in the Netherlands (46%) and in France (53%). The material damage caused by hypodiagnostics of a subclinical ketosis is associated with a considerable decrease in production of milk and rejection of meat. Veterinary and sanitary assessment of pathology of slaughter products of cattle (cows) with ketosis on milk production farms was the object of study. Formation of casual selection of 30 dairy cows was carried out, with the subsequent division into groups of highly - lactating and low – lactating cows, and in groups with ketosis and in groups of healthy individuals. As a result of a research it was revealed that in group of highly lactating cows were sick with a subclinical ketosis 4 out of 14 individuals, and in group with low - lactating 13 out of 16 individuals. That considerably exceeded prevalence of a state in comparison with the highly lactating group (χ 2=8,438; D.f.=1; p=<0,01). Characteristics of hulks, quality of meat, and also ofmicrobic contamination level were much worse in group of individuals with ketosis, and distinctions in groups were statistically significant at level p <0,05. As a result of a research we came to conclusion that against the background of high prevalence of ketosis among the lactating individuals it is important to reveal such risk factoras - low lactation. Formation of a sub clinical ketosis of ten happen slatently for veterinarians and owners of dairy farmings. It can lead to it shy podiagnostics and, as a result, to the decline in production of hulks, qualities of meat and finally to considerable economi closses.
