ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS AND TREATMENT OF EFFLUENTS FROM AGRO-BASED PAPER MILLSSANGEETA SHARMA, SARABJIT SINGH AND HARLEEN KAURAbstract The effluent water of many industries such as textiles, leather, paper, printing, cosmetics, etc., contains large amount of pollutants such as color, metallic ions, colloidal impurities, microorganism etc. There is huge number of treatment processes as well as agro based adsorbents opted for the processing of this effluent water-containing pollutants, but the conventional treatment processes are not sufficient to degrade many bio-recalcitrant pollutants. In this paper, study has been carried out on the degradation of effluents using advanced oxidation process which is simple, low cost and effective method to reduce pollutants in waste water effluent.
