INVESTIGATING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CHARACTERISTICS OF URBAN SPACES (PARKS) ON CREATIVITY DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN

Abstract

In addition to adults in urban areas, there are children audiences who are affected by the external factors much more than the adults, hence it is necessary to allocate a part of the urban spaces and especially the parks, to kids. Growth in various aspects occurs in a parallel form. The growth of creative force is also not an exception and is affected by other aspects of humanity. There are a lot of empirical evidences and theories which indicate that environment enrichment are effective in individuals’ training and education, especially in the early years of life in developing mental abilities. According to what was said, the overall purpose can be defined as ((there are efficient relationships between the characteristics of places in children’s creativity development process.)) To achieve this purpose, three words of children, environment and creativity are analyzed and after evaluating and collecting information about them, the role and importance of the environmental factors in the development of children’s creativity was explored. In this paper, based on the Wechsler test for children, children’s fluid intelligence was evaluated at four parks in urban scale in Shiraz and their creativity growth can be investigated because fluid intelligence reflects the creativity of children. SPSS software was used to analyze the data which eventually led to conclusions about the impact of environmental factors on the growth of children’s creativity.
