ESTIMATION OF REFERENCE EVAPOTRANSPIRATION OF BHIWANI AND HISAR DISTRICT, HARYANA, INDIA, USING PENMAN- MONTEITH MODEL (FAO-56) AND METEOROLOGICAL INPUTSA. Bala1, K.S. Rawat, A.K. Misra, A. Srivastava and Sudhir Kumar SinghAbstract Reference evapotranspiration (ETo) is an important indicator of atmospheric evaporation demand and has been widely used to characterize hydrological change. However, sparse metrological observatories prohibit the accurate meteorological parameters estimations and their characterization such as temporal patterns of ETo over large spatial scales. In this study, we have estimated ETo of two wheat growing districts of Haryana, India through the Penman- Monteith (PM) method driven by metrological datasets to analyze the decadal variations of ETo of period 19982008. Overall the result shows that ETo values are generally low in the months of January and December and very high in the month of March.
