Abstract

In Geotechnical engineering, if ground foundation has eminent organic content, then it may not adequately solidify. In this study, the Geotechnical characteristics of the treated peat soil with pond ash (PA) – hydrated lime (HL) were scrutinized. The physical properties of the natural peat were performed at the beginning to assess the Geotechnical demeanour of peat equilibrium. The clout of the treated peat was probed to determine the engineering properties. During the determination, Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) test was observing the peat mix with 20% of PA and 12% of HL in prolongation imbrue time (0, 1, 2 and 3 months). The mineralogy, micro-fabrics and morphology of the delineated Stratigraphy was determined using scanning electronic microscope (SEM) analysis performance of the bonding particle’s presence in the exemplification peat when mixes with pond ash and hydrated lime. It is a reason why it’s closely enmesh to the improved strength of peat.
