Abstract

The development of uranium deposits has a significant impact on surrounding plant life. Ionizingradiation causes severe mutations in plants. This article studies the specificities of uranium oreoccurrence, the content of radionucleds in the air, soil and in the objects of plant origin in the areaof uranium deposits, and mines‘ influence on soil and vegetation areas on the example of somespecies of higher plants (Pínussylvéstris), the accumulation of radionuclides in the vegetation. Toachieve this goal we have used a range of complementary research methods, such as field surveys, bioindication of vegetational covers, we used the spectrometric complex “Gamma Plus”. Inaddition, we summarize the experience of domestic and foreign research on the subject. As a result, the study revealed that different organs of the same plant have a different number of radionuclides. This is associated with an accumulation capacity. Young plants are more susceptible to learning andwith age the resistance to radiation increases.
