RHEOLOGICAL STUDY OF TAMARIND SEED XYLOGLUCAN WITH XANTHAN AND PSYLLIUM HUSK POWDERKshitiz Kumar, Anuradha Mishra and Alok SaxenaAbstract The rheological properties of mixture of xyloglucan with xanthan gum (XG) and psyllium husk powder (PSP) were studied using strain controlled rheometer. Mixed solution of TSX and XG in the ratio of 3:1, 1:1 and 1:3 keeping total concentration 1% while mixed solution of TSX and PHP in the ratio of 3:1, 1:1 and 1:3 keeping total concentration 2% were prepared. Frequency dependent G and G were measured in viscoelastic region (0.2%) determined through amplitude sweep measurement test. Frequency sweep measurement of G and G in viscoelastic region showed that in mixture of TSX and XG, storage modulus (G) was greater than loss modulus(G) and both G and G showed little dependency on frequency. The mixture of TSX and XG showed weak gel behaviour in all the mixed ratio. G decreased as the ratio of xyloglucan increased. TSX and PHP solution showed the gelation as G> G and value of G is very high. G is higher when PHP was in higher ratio.
