REVATHIAbstract The studies were carried out in Gmelina arborea bark to elicit information on the biochemical constituents and to identify the chemical properties, test the antibacterial activity and the biochemical constituents. The study showed the presence of various chemicals that finds several applications in aspects such as anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetics, gum - resin production, cosmetic industry, soap and shampoo industry and perfumery. Bark was found to have the inhibition zone in the petriplates around the filter paper loaded with the bark extract of about 0.2 cm.
