GREEN CONCEPT DESIGN FOR INSTITUTIONAL BUILDING

Abstract

In the twenty-first century, green building concept has originated a huge impact in a developing country like INDIA. The most significant trend in building industry is green or sustainable buildings. The main objective of the study is to increase the performance and conservation of energy by applying the green concept in the design of energy consumption for the “Engineering Main block (Administrative Block) of Vels Institute of Science Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS), Pallavaram, Chennai”. And also to provide efficient Electrical system, Portable water system and Waste water treatment system. After implementation of the green concept by using solar power panel system, 16.67% of energy can be reduced per day and by implementing the sewage water treatment plant, 95% of total waste water can be recycled and reused for gardening and flushing purposes.
