ECOTOURISM MODEL BASED ON SOCIAL ASSET (HALAL TOURISM) AS THE STRENGHTHENING OF ECONOMY OF LOMBOK COMMUNITY, INDONESIA

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain a model of ecotourism-based development of social Asset to strengthen the local communities’ economy. Methodologically, this study uses a design based research model from Reeves (2006) with research and development procedures, those are: (1) exploration of appropriateness and needs conditions; (2) preparation of design; (3) testing and improvement, and (4) reflection to produce the final product. Data collection with questionnaires, interviews, FGDs. The result of the study shows: (1) development model of ecotourism-based social Asset, including: purposes, policies and programs, implementation strategies, monitoring and evaluation; (2) the results of expert analytical test and practitioners and validation test widely shows that the resulting model is appropriate and very feasible to be implemented.
