Abstract

The article is devoted to the results of field studies in 2016-2017 in the conditions of the fruit belt of the Almaty Region (southeast Kazakhstan) on the monitoring of San Jose scale (Quadraspidiotus perniciosus Comstock, 1881). It was found that in the conditions of the fruit belt in the Almaty Region, San Jose scale developed in two full generations, and the third was facultative one. The most vulnerable phase for protective treatments against the pest was the phase of swarmers’ appearance. The appearance of swarmers from the overwintering generation was noted in the first 10 days of June, and of swarmers of the first summer generation – at the end of the third 10 days of July. The optimal period of treatment against San Jose scale was 30-33 days after catching the first males in pheromone traps.
