WATER STORY OF SINGAPORE: TRANSFORMATION OF POTENTIAL WATER CRISIS INTO AN OPPORTUNITY

Abstract

Water security has become a major issue of concern for most of the countries worldwide and Singapore is one of them. Despite of being classified as water scarce country by UN, it succeeded in becoming a self sufficient country through its holistic water management strategies. In this paper, the water story of Singapore of transformation from a stage of vulnerability to an opportunity has been explained which is an outstanding example for other resource scarce countries.
