GC-MASS ANALYSIS OF (APIUM GRAVEOLENS) LEAF EXTRACTS OBTAINED WITH AQUEOUS AND METHANOL EXTRACTION AND STUDY ITS ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITYHAIFA ALI AWAD, JASSIM MOHAMMED AWDA, MANAL ABD-ALSSIRAG AND DUHA ALLAALFALAHIAbstract Two types of extraction, methanol and aqueous of Celery leaf extracts were applied individually, Chemical composition of obtained extracts was assessed by GC/MS. Inhibition activity tests of alcoholic and aqueous Celery leaf Extracts against some Bactria strains and fungi molds were analyzed. Results obtained of Inhibition activity of alcoholic and aqueous Celery leaf Extracts found the biggest inhibition zone by alcoholic extract were increased continuously with the increase of concentration of celery extract, In general, higher concentration of the alcoholic extracts (6000 ppm) had the biggest effect against Bacillus subtills was 18.6mm. Methanol was more effective as inhibitor agent. Many bioactive compounds of methanol and aqueous extract was detected and assessed by GC-mass.
