EFFECT OF COPPER OXIDE NANOPARTICLES IN SOMEBIOMOLECULES CONTENT OF VICIAFABA L. PLANTS TISSUESRana Tariq YahyaAbstract The study demonstrates the effect of the concentrations (0.0, 30,60,90 and 150 mg L-1) of Copper Oxide ÃNanoparticles (Cu2O-NPs) that added to the MS solid medium on the percentage and the time ofgermination, seedlings length, fresh weight of callus initiated from those seedlings which grow on aboveMS medium and supplemented with 1.0 mg L -1 of NAA + 0.5 mg L-1 of BA and also its content of proteinand nucleic acids. The results refer to that the low concentrations of Cu2O-NPs, significantly encouragedthe germination of the Viciafaba plants seeds and the highest germination percentage 95% occurred on theMS solid medium supplemented with 30 mg L-1 of Cu2O-NPs. Alike, the callus initiated medium blendedwith the concentrations 30 and 60 mg L-1 greatly increased callus fresh weight as compared to control sampleswhich reached to 4.21g and 4.89 g respectively. While the higher callus content of protein and nucleic acidsrecorder on MS medium contain 30 mg L-1 equal to 0.9232 mg g-1 of protein and 12.45 mg g-1 from DNA and99.43 mg g-1 from RNA.
