POLYBROMINATED DIPHENYL ETHERS (PBDES) IN SURFACE WATERS FROM CAUBAY RIVER, VIETNAM: OCCURRENCE,CONGENER PROFILE AND ECOLOGICAL RISKVU DUC TOAN AND DO THI LAN CHIAbstract An evaluation of Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in water from CauBay River, Vietnam was carried out in April 2017. Ten representative sampling sites which affected by urban, industrial, agricultural and landfill activities were selected. The obtained results indicated a wide occurrence of contaminant with Σ7 PBDE concentrations ranging from 1.31 to 10.54 μg/L. PBDEs congeners profiles pointed out the predominance of BDE 47 and BDE 99. The PBDEs ecological risk in CauBay River increases from DecaBDE (very low risk) to OctaBDE (low risk) and PentaBDE(moderate risk).
