ANWER ABBAS FADAAM AND HAZIM AZIZ AL-ROBAI

Abstract

Environmental pollution problems are increasing with the increase in the number of people and the increase in industrial activities, in particular the waste of factories and laboratories that are put into water without treatment. The Basic Red dye adsorption was studied on activated carbon from Schanginia aegyptiaca. Both types thermally activated 400 5C (ACH) and thermally-chemically activated (400 5C and mix of phosphoric acid (0.1N) and potassium hydroxide base (0.1N)) (ACM). It was found that the best adsorption was with chemically activated carbon and higher adsorption at the lowest concentration and increase adsorption with increased dose, contact time and pH.
