Abstract
Phytoplankton population density was maximum in April (1110 units/litre) and minimum in December (423 Units/litre). Twenty two species of phytoplankton were recorded of these 7 belong Chlorophyceae, 6 to Bacilliariophyceae, 5 to Cyanophyceae and 4 to Euglenaphyceae. Various physico chemical factors of water are in postitive correlation with different phytoplankton groups.
