Abstract
The present study shows that bacterial speciesisolated from polluted sites show best results to resistand grow in high concentrations of hazardouspollutant like Chromium. A total of 10 chromiumtolerance bacteria has been isolated and taxonomicallyidentified to belong to genera Bacillus, Pseudomonas, Enterococcus. A strain isolated belongto Bacillus species show resistance to chromium atthe concentration of 500 mg/l, which have been isolatedfrom highly chromium polluted areas. Theycan be utilized as a best candidate forbioremediation studies due to their high tolerance toCr(VI). These isolates can be further studied for theirplant growth enhancing abilities for remediationand management of Cr contaminated soils.
