Abstract

The physico chemical and microbiological analysis or four types of mineral waters with commercial names Kinley, Life line, Aquafina and Oxynch was performed by employing standard water analysis methods. The physical parameters such as pH. Conductivity and Turbidity were within the permissible limits suggesting that these waters are potable. Microbiological analysis by MPH and Total plate count showed that the conforms and other bacteria were absent in all four The hardness. chloride and nitrate content in all waters were within the permissible limit The Total Solids ITS), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and suspended solids (SS) in all waters were within the permissible limit. The heavy metals such as nickel, hexavalent chromium, iron and other toxic compounds like phenol and ammonia were absent in Mese waters suggesting that these waters are potable.
