Abstract
A Laccase producing strain Phanerochade clnysospon urn NCIM 1197 ' Copper in the form of copper sulfate at different concentrations ranging from 0.01 inM to 0.5 niM increa'ses' laccam activity substantially. Maximum laccase activity of about 26 U/L was observed with 0.3 n8A CuS0,, Moreover, manganese in the form of MrSO4 in growth medium plays a significant role in enzyme production. Absence of manganese resulted in high yield and activity of las-ram Regarding growth, 03 mL1 Cu concentration resulted in an nitrated mycelial fresh weight of about 770 mg on day 12. It has been suggested that growth medium w ith 0.3 inhA Cu and zero manganese concentration increases both growth and laccase activity in Phanerothuele cluysosporium NCIM 1197.
