Abstract

Twenty radish (Raphanus sativus L.) genotypes were evaluated during summer 2022-23 at Department of Vegetable Science, College of Horticulture, Mudigere to study the genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance as a per cent of mean in radish. Analysis of variance showed highly significant differences among all the genotypes for all the characters under study. High heritability coupled with high genetic advance as a per cent of mean was recorded for plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, days to harvest, root length, root diameter, root girth, root weight, root volume, root yield per plot and root yield per hectare, suggesting that these traits can be improved through direct selection due to additive gene action.
