PATHOGENICITY OF AEROMONAS HYDROPHILA ARTIFICIALLY INJECTED IN CIRRHINUS MRIGALA (HAM,)

S.A. MASTAN AND F.A. QURESHI

Abstract

Experiments were conducted with A. hydrophila which was injected to C. nirigala intraperitoneally and observations were made at regular intervals for 96 hrs to study the disease progress. Visible structural and hebavioural symptoms were noticed. Moribund and dead fish were autopsied to observe pathological changes in the different organs. The LD5n value obtained was 3.01 x 103 cells/ml. The statistical analysis such as regression equation, chi-square, Log LD,o+ standard deviation (SD) and ficiucial limits (FL) of data were recorded as Y=-2.4114 ± 2.033 x, 2.662, 3.4785 ± 0.072 and 2.17 x 103 and 4.19 x 103 cells/ml, respectively. The chi-square value was found to be significant at p<0.5.
