Abstract

The study conducted in the kharif season (2022) aimed to investigate the impact of response of direct seeded rice under different formulation of new generation herbicides on yield and economics. The primary weed species observed included Echinochloa colonum and Echinochloa crus-galli from the grass family, alongside Cyperus difformis and Cyperus rotundus representing sedges and Bergia capensis and Eclipta alba among broadleaved weeds. The results showed that, application of bensulfuron methyl + pretilachlor GR (10 kg ha-1) at 7 DAS fb hand weeding at 40 DAS recorded the lowest weed population and weed dry matter production at 30 and 60 DAS, The highest efficiency in weed control, grain yield, net returns and returns per rupee invested.
