Abstract

This review delves into the intricate challenges confronting global agriculture and food security through a scientific lens, focusing on key economic factors such as climate change, resource scarcity, technological gaps and policy structures. Climate change induced disruptions also pose threats to crop productivity, hence the need for adaptation. In terms of scarcity, especially in water, land and energy resources there is a need for innovative solutions that are sustainable. The digital divide widens productivity disparities among smallholder farmers. Trade stability affects people’s lifestyles, which need immediate policy responses with high accuracy. Socioeconomic factors shape effective policy frameworks which are important predictors of agricultural behaviour. The inclusive growth strategies should capture the intricacies of production. Creativity informed by technological developments and teamwork becomes a key driver. These complexities require a concerted global response to traverse them and create an equitable, robust future for world agriculture
