Abstract

Somatic cell co-culture of oviduct epithelial cell monolayer (OECC) and combination of penicillamine, hypotaurine and epinephrine (PHE) have been shown to support embryonic development from one cell stage to the morula or blastocyst stage. Fertilization of in-vitro matured ovine oocytes in the presence of oviduct epithelial cell culture in combination with PHE resulted in a higher rate of cleavage (12.5%) than observed in the presence of control medium alone. Hence it is concluded that the supplementation of OECC and PHE alone or in combination could enhance the cleavage in ovine in-vitro fertilization. Abbreviations: OECC- Oviduct epithelial cell, PHE - Penicillainine, Hypotaurine and Epinephrine T ALP- Tyrode albumin lactate pyruvate, BOEC- Bovine oviduct epithelial cell
