Abstract
The study focuses on the effective treatment and utilization of alkaline sludge from chlor-alkali industries in brick-making. Experimental results demonstrated successful pH neutralization to an optimal value of 7.86 within 30 minutes, ensuring the sludgeâs suitability for reuse. The maximum sludge content incorporated with fly ash without compromising brick quality was 52 g. The resulting bricks displayed desirable physical properties: a compressive strength of 108.3 Kg/cc, a water absorption capacity of 12.1% (w/w), and standard dimensions of 230 mm à 110 mm à 70 mm, meeting industry requirements for non-load-bearing construction applications. These findings highlight the potential for sustainable reuse of industrial waste in construction materials.
