EFFECT OF PH AND TIME ON REMOVAL OF CHROMIUM BY CYANOBACTERIA

D. LEGA AND S. SRISUDHA

Abstract

The removal of Chromium from tannery effluent containing Cr(vi) was made possible by using few cyanobacteria. The removal of chromium varied with time (8-12) days and (pH 2 - 8). The maximum removal of chromium was 97% at pH 2.0 and 4.0 and 92.7% removal on 12th day of growth.
