FEN PHOM AND C. M. NOORJA HAN

Abstract

The present study describes the Physico-chemical Characteristics, isolation and identification of microbes (both bacteria and fungi) in the untreated soap effluent. The physico-chemical parameters (pH, EC, BOD, COD, TDS, TSS, Total Hardness etc.) of the untreated soap effluent were studied. The bacteria present in the effluent was identified as gram positive -Staphylococcus aureus and 6 species of fungi were identified which include Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus niger, Mucor sp., Penicillium sp., Rhizopzis sp. and Trichoderma sp.
