Abstract

Different media were formulated by using different types of peptones and mushroom extract and employed for the production of CrylAa protein; an Delta erulotayin of Bacillus thuringiensis, from hyper expressive recombinant E. coli strain containing cryl Aa gene. The final pH of the fermentation beer after 72 h of incubation in almost all the media were highly alkaline ranging from 8.1 to 9.5. The final 0.D were found to be at par as that of standard Luria medium. The costs of all the formulated media were very less than Luria broth. So this work promises to provide cheapest Bacillus thuringiensis based biopesticide to the poor farmer of India.
