Abstract
Fifteen pasteurized milk samples of different brands received in Aurangabad city were collected. These milk samples were screened for the presence of phosphatase enzyme as well as for the presence of colifmms. Eighty percent of the samples showed negative phosphatase test and the remaining samples gave positive test. Almost all the samples showed presence of coliforms. The present study indicates inadequate pasteurization and improper handling and storage of the milk.
