Bhabajit Bhuyan and H.P.Sarma

Abstract

An attempt has been made to analyze the hazards for rusting and corrosion of concrete in soil by studying the pH measured in 1:5 Soil: Water. Twenty soil samples were collected and analyzed for significant hazards and lime requirements. An assessment is made by comparing the analytical data of soil samples with the chemical test result ranking chart. Almost all the samples are found to require lime or dolomite. Significant hazards for iron or steel rusting and corrosion of concrete in soil are also recorded.
