FLUORIDE CONCENTRATION HI UNDER GROUND WATER SAMPLES IN VARIOUS VILLAGES OF BULANDSHAHAR DISTRICT,INDIA.

Abstract

The major source for drinking water in Western U.P. is ground water. The ground waters of Bulandsahar district of Westron U.P. are found to have fluoride which causes fluorosis. The water samples were collected from public hand pumps from the villages like Nagla Kelki, Jauth, Nagla Balka, Jamanthiar, Surjawali, Janaura and Pauth in the month of August 2003. The Parameters like pH, fluoride, nitrate, TDS and iron were determined and the concentration of fluoride, nitrate TDS and Iron were found beyond the permissible limit in almost all the villages.
