EVALUATION OF GROUNDWATER QUALITY REWA REGION, MADHY PRADESH, INDIA

Abstract

Purpose. A total of twenty groundwater samples were collected from different dug wells, tube wells and hand pumps and were analysed. The results indicate that most of the groundwater samples are good quality and within the permissible limit as fixed by BIS ( I 991) and WHO (1996) for total dissolved solids, hardness, magnesium, sulphate, calcium etc. Besides these, an attempt has also been made to classify the groundwater samples as per new scheme for geochemical classification of natural water (Chadha I 999) The groundwater quality of Rewa region has been assessed to see the suitability of groundwater for domestic
