Abstract
An experiment was conducted in 2001-2002 in split plot with four replications and twelve treatments comprising of irrigation regimes (0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0 IW/CPE ratio) as main treatment and potash level (0, 25, 50 kg FC70 ha-') as sub treatments. The significantly highest plant height (66.02 cm) branches (11.70), dry matter (23.15 gm), pods per plant (43.16) were recorded for 1.01W/CPE ratio. The seed yield (23.41 q ha1) was recorded for 0.8 IW/CPE which was significantly superior than rest of the treatment. The straw yield at 1.0 IW/CPE and 0.8 IW./CPE were at par. The growth characters did not influenced seed yield. High seed yield (20.03 q ha-') and straw yield C17.91 q ha-') were recorded for 25 kg K20 ha-', which was at par with the yield, obtained at 50 kg Kp.
