Abstract
Ranikhet disease is caused by a virus of paramyxoviridae. This symptoms of the disease vary considerably depending on the nature and virulence of pathogen. There are a variety of reasons for the outbreak of Ranikhet disease; poor biosecurity measures, environmental temperature, poor quality of food and improper vaccination may complicate the disease. Extreme environmental conditions lead to the mmunosuppression in broilers which in turn brings the heavy mortality. High mortalities were observed in 0-4 weeks (93.3%) and 5-8 weeks (72.2%) of broilers. Birds affected by Ranikhet disease showed considerable weight loss.
