D.V. Pampatwar and N.E. Ambore

Abstract

The basic physiological and metabolic situations of these two fishes are different with each other and in this work it was found that the Channa gachua was highly modified for its physiological adaptations in unfavourable conditions of their environment. The total WBC count showed nearly similar pattern in Channa gachua and Lobeo rohita. The total WBC count in Channo gachua was higher than that of the Labeo rohita because it is observed that low white cell counts, in active fish and high white cell counts inactive fishes.
