ASSESSMENT OF FLUORIDE POLLUTION IN SHALLOW GROUNDWATER AQUIFERS OF PARTS OF CHITTAR SUB BASIN, TAMBARAPARANI RIVER, TIRUNELVELI DISTRICT, TAMILNADU, INDIA

Abstract

The present study of Fluoride pollution assessment has been carriedout in parts of Chittar sub basin,Tambaraparani River,Tannilnadu. In order to understand about 45 groundwater samples have been collected from shallow aquifers of the study area.The concentration of Fluoride level varies from 0.4 mg/L to 2.8 rng/L with an average concentration of 0.85 mg/L. Out of 45 sample locations only 3 locations have identified with high concentration of above I .5mg/ I.Further,the common effects of fluoride pollution has discussed.
