K. Sandhya and V.V. Vardhani

Abstract

Both one week (wt 170-180 gm) and two weeks (wt 220-230 gm) old broilers were employed to understand the effect of AFB, on trier transaminases and glycogen. Two groups, A (0.01 rig/bird) and B (0.1 ng/bird) and another control group C were (one week old broilers) used in the present study. Similarly groups 0(0.25 ng/bird) and E (0.5 ng/ bird) and uninffected controls (group E) were (two weeks old) employed in the present investigations Controls, as well as AFB, treated animals were sacrificed on day 1,3,8 and I I of experimental period and their livers were collected and processed for the estimation of transaminases and glycogen. It is interesting to note thatAFB, induced significant alterations in the levels of liver ASTALT and glycogen throughout the experimental period.
