Abstract
Water samples collected at an interval of three hours for twenty four hours from eight different stations in the Ganga river during winter were analysed on the spot for some physico-chemical parameters like air temperature, water temperature, pH, conductivity, total dissolved solids, free carbondioxide and dissolved oxygen. Air temperature, water temperature, free carbondioxide and dissolved oxygen show a selective pattern of variation. There is 110 such selective variation in conductivity and total dissolved solids which are disturbed by several factors.
