Abstract
Mercurial 'fungicide induced haematological changes in Rana tigrina (Daudin) has been described. 24 hrs. sublethal exposure to Emisan-6 at room temperature induced unique responses in the haemogram of frog. While total erythrocyte count, haemoglobin content and packed cell volume recorded increased values (accelerated erythropoiesis), the size of the erythrocytes decreased (microcytosis) suggesting an adaptive mechanism on the part of the frog for increasing the total oxygen carrying capacity of the blood.
