Abstract
Haematological changes induced by the weedicide. Bilchlor in Oreochromis mossambicus (Peters) has been recorded and analysed. 48 hour exposure to the weedicide at room temperature induced a unique response in the haemogram of the fish. The TEC recorded lower values, MCH registered significantly higher values while PCV. Hb and other parameters did not record any marked variation. The overall results suggested haemolysis in the exposed fishes simultaneously with compensatory erythropoiesis.
