Abstract

The aim of the present study was to study the efficiency of developed anaerobic microbial consortia on biogas production with cow-dung as substrate at thermophilic condition (55°C). Higher reduction of total solids (79.39%) and chemical oxygen demand (75.5%) were observed in thermophilic digestors than in digestors incubated at ambient condition. Similarly, the higher reduction in TS and COD at initial stages was reflected in higher total biogas production in digestors incubated at thermophilic condition.
