B.S. Choudri and V.C. Chavadi

Abstract

Sediments have been collected from Navalur Pond around Lakamanahalli industrial area and analysed for trace elements content like Cd, Pb, Ni, Cu, Zu, Mn, Fe and Cr. Sediments showed 2 - fold increased level of studied elements concentration in comparison with relatively non-polluted values. Further, the results of correlation coefficient and t- test values indicating positive correlation in deposition and highly significant at 5% level of confidence. The higher content of trace elements in the pond sediments are attributed to the surrounding industrial activity.
