Abstract
Markroda Reservoir, situated across the Negri river in district Guna, is mainly used for irrigation. The Water is also used for pisciculture by villagers and fishermen. Monthly and seasonal variations of different physico-Chemical characteristices were studied from January 1999 to December I 999 to enhance the limnological knowledge and to explore the possibilities for better managament of pisciculture. Considerable seasonal variations were noted in temperature transparency, free CO2, dissolved oxygen, alkalinity, nitrates, phosphate and chloride. Study also indicated that the water is quite suitable for pisciculture.
